Placing a Holding Deposit on an Upcoming Litter
We accept conditional holding deposits on upcoming litters to help you get the puppy you want. Here's how it works:
1) Call to discuss the availability for the sex of puppy you are interested from our upcoming litters.
2) Deposits for specific sex are taken on a first come, first serve basis via Paypal (a 5% admin fee will be added to final adoption cost), money order, cashiers check, cash, or after personal checks have cleared. For example, if you are the first person to specify that you would like a female from the December litter, you will have the first pick from among any females born to that litter (after breeder's option of keeping any puppies). You will receive a receipt and holding agreement either via email or in the postal mail on placing your deposit. Deposits are non refundable unless we are unable to provide you with a puppy as stated in #4 below. There is a $50.00 fee for any checks returned for non sufficient funds or stop payment orders which can be imposed by the magistrate if necessary.
3) You will be contacted when the litter arrives as to the availability or lack of availability for the sex of puppy you specified. When the puppy is 4-5 weeks old, you will have the option to pick your puppy from pictures or from in person selection. At that point, you can either confirm your intent to purchase a specific puppy or elect to defer to an upcoming litter. If you choose to purchase a puppy, your holding deposit will be applied to the purchase price, and you will send a "confirmation deposit" which, together with your holding deposit will be equal to 50% of the purchase price of the puppy, and is non-refundable. The balance of the purchase price, paypal fees and shipping, if applicable will be due when the puppy is 8 weeks old, or 10 days prior to shipping, whichever comes first.
3) If someone defers to a different litter or opts-out, the depositor behind them will assume the order for pick of the person who deferred. For example if you have "second pick" of any available females, and the person who had first pick of available females defers to a different litter, you then move up, and get first pick of the available females. Breeder always reserves the right of first choice from litters.
4) If, on arrival, the litter does not include a puppy of the sex and color you desire, you may roll your holding deposit to the next available position in the list for another upcoming litter or you may request a refund of your deposit.
We think this system is fair, and allows the purchaser to see their actual puppy before making a non-refundable deposit. We want every puppy we place to be the perfect puppy for the family who adopts it!
